01.11 Reflection

For the reflection anchor point we talk about how the ROCP – Renewal Of Creative Path process is a reflective process.

We pull out the first 2 questions – what connects us and what disconnects us? as 2 questions for you to ask about your design (the topic of your design rather than the process)

So for example I might ask myself – what connects me about my desk space? – the light from the window, the plant beside my desk, having a sit stand desk so that I can stand and dance while working.

What disconnects me about my desk space? It’s in front of the window so the window is distant and I can’t easily get to it, masses of paperwork, scruffy walls left over from when it was my daughter’s room.

Then I might consider when is a good time to ask myself these questions regularly. Which could also link with the patterns and momentum anchor points. I could ask myself them on monday mornings but I tend to like to just get on with work then, so asking myself then won’t necessarily lead to action. Maybe Tuesday morning would be better for me.

Share in the comments your reflections on your design topics. (not the process).

What connects me to my posture?

  • Breathing
  • Pausing
  • the morning meditation
  • the vision of myself centered
  • sports
  • listening to music
  • walking
  • be in the moment
  • nature
  • chanting

What disconects me from my posture?

  • working
  • nonograms
  • reading novels
  • inner monologue
  • stress
  • strong negative emotions: fear, rage
  • being tired

Other

  • The process of improving my posture is long and complex. The «week of presence» was only a first step.
  • My posture is intrinsically connected to
    • my emotional state
    • my energetic state
    • my exercise habits
    • my breathing
  • Working on posture also helps to improve them, and working on them also helps with my posture.
